Setting up your artwork The most important part of your order is setting up your artwork. Please read these instructions carefully as they are vital in ensuring that your artwork reaches us correctly. If you are unsure of anything please ask. It is better to check what you are doing at this stage rather than have to spend time redoing it later. It is important that you set your artwork up to the correct size and you allow for bleed etc. The first thing you need to do is to establish which software progammes you can use to create your artwork. Once you have established this you need to download our template by clicking on this link (this is also available as an EPS file in a Zip file). This will download the template which will be extracted and downloaded onto your computer. This will give a pdf template with all the relevant dimensions on. You will note that there are a number of different aspects on the template which you need to be aware of. Please note that for simplicity there is no facility to print onto the pocket so the template only has the folder shown. Trim Size The solid blue line represents the finished size of the folder which is 435mm x 303mm. You need to set your artwork page size to these dimensions. Please do not place text closer than 4mm to the edge as tolerance must be made for the finishing. Please avoid placing images or text within 2mm of the spine as some tolerance needs to be made for the creasing although an image or text can go across the spine without any problems. Please contact us if you need further information. Fold line The dashed blue lines represent where your folder will be creased and folded. Bleed The solid light blue box represents the size of the document that we need to produce your order successfully which includes 2mm bleed. We need 2mm bleed on all four sides of the document to allow for any images that go to the edge of the page. The dimensions are indicated in red on the template (439mm x 309mm). To create the bleed just extend the artwork beyond your trim/artwork area (435mm x 303mm) by 2mm on either side. When you have set your artwork up then you need to save it. DonØt forget that the area behind the pocket will be obstructed by the pocket so take this into account on your design, i.e. donØt put anything on the pocket page that will be partly obscured by the pocket Saving artwork Save your artwork using your name and the job number that you were given at the time of your initial order i.e. jon_smithJN122333.pdf Open your file once you have saved it to make sure that everything has saved correctly and if possible print out two copies: one for your own use and one to send to us which, if we need to make minor amendments to your files, we will know what the finished job should look like. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. When you have done this all you need to do is to send us the file. You can do this by clicking here.
