What software or formats can I use?

We can accept any of the following packages/formats

PDF files

This is our preferred choice.

  • Ensure your PDF is saved to a resolution of 300dpi
  • Ensure your PDF includes bleed and cut marks– for more details see setting up artwork page (click here)

The following packages can create PDFs which need to be saved as print ready high resolution PDFs.

Acrobat Professional (not reader)
Quark Xpress
Indesign
Photoshop
Microsoft Publisher 2007

  • Ensure you set Acrobat Professional to embed all fonts. The help feature on your software or manual should have instructions on how to create print ready PDF files.

JPEG files

  • Ensure your JPEG is saved to a resolution of 300dpi.
  • Ensure your JPEG includes bleed and cut marks– link to setting up artwork page

Quark Express Version 6.5 (not Version 7 or 8).

  • For Xpress Passport users save file as single language (not multi-language)
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use) and link images.
  • Ensure your file includes bleed and cut marks (what is this) – link to setting up artwork page
  • Convert all colour and images to CMYK (not RGB)

Indesign

  • Macintosh Version 5 (CS3), Version 4 (CS2)
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use) and link images.
  • Ensure your file includes bleed and cut marks (what is this) – link to setting up artwork page
  • Convert all colours and images to CMYK (not RGB)

Illustrator

  • Macintosh Version 13 (CS3), Version 12 (CS2)
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use) and link images.
  • Ensure your file includes bleed and cut marks (what is this) – link to setting up artwork page
  • Convert all colours and images to CMYK (not RGB)

Photoshop

  • Macintosh Version 10 (CS3)
  • Flatten all layers
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use) and link images.
  • Ensure your file includes bleed and cut marks (what is this) – link to setting up artwork page
  • Convert all colours and images to CMYK (not RGB)

Microsoft Word

  • Macintosh v10.
  • PC v2002
  • If possible convert to a PDF file.
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use).

Microsoft Publisher

  • PC v 2003
  • Include all fonts used (they will be deleted after use) and all link images.
  • Convert all colours and images to CMYK (not RGB)
